Referral Tracking
How Vanta tracks referral clicks, cookies, and attributed orders.

Overview
Referral tracking uses a 30-day cookie (vanta_ref) set when someone visits with your ?ref= code. The last referred click before checkout usually receives attribution if the cookie is intact.

What you should check
- 1Ensure visitors use your full referral URL with the ref parameter.
- 2Know the cookie lasts 30 days — late purchases within that window can still attribute.
- 3Ad blockers and strict privacy modes can prevent cookie storage and break tracking.
- 4Compare click count vs successful referrals on your dashboard to spot tracking issues.
- 5Contact support if a verified referred order did not attribute with invoice ID.
3
What not to do
- Do not submit duplicate orders while waiting for support review.
- Do not share passwords, Nitro tokens, seed phrases, or full card numbers in chat or public channels.
- Do not remove boosting or delivery accounts before support finishes reviewing the order.

- Invoice / order number from your confirmation email or account orders page
- The product you purchased
- A working Discord invite when delivery is involved
